bastardized
Shaking Up The Classics
by Elizabeth Brahy
Would Shakespeare be surprised
To see his plays so bastardized,
Musical-ized, comic-book-sized?
The classics must be lionized.
Yet wouldn’t we soon forget
Poor Hamlet and dear Juliet
If we didn’t renew and reinterpret?
Shakespeare can handle it I bet!
